Compassion

I get so excited about the Energy of Compassion because it asks us to be involved with loving ourselves and one another. Compassion reminds us to; leave all that judgment at the door, and instead requests us to; ask questions, listen, look deeper…inviting us into experiences that we may not otherwise be a part of and with people we may not generally have the opportunity to interact with.

There are a couple of varieties of this loving act we can practice: Self compassion and Compassion to others.

To me, compassion means the ability to be present with someone (including yourself) without judgment.

When we are compassionate we access our capability to see beyond what the emotions or choices of the moment may be.

You step beyond the boundary of judging someone based on a preconceived viewpoint of your own.

  • That person is overweight → that must mean they are unhealthy

  • A child having a tantrum in the store → must have a bad parenting

  • I never finish my to-do list → I guess I am not dedicated or committed to myself

Instead, the Energy of Compassion shows up in our lives when we can release the judgment of how we or others may have found our way into a situation, and instead engage in the energy of compassion, and kindness, and say; ok here I am how can I support myself and others in this situation.

  • That person is overweight → Instead of judging why, I am just going to give them a smile and hopefully, that smile will brighten their day a little.

Everyone deserves to receive a smile during the day.

  • A child having a tantrum in the store → Instead of judging why, I am going to lean over and say; You’re doing fine. Parenting can be tough. Can I help out with anything right now?

Every parent needs positive support and encouragement at some point.

  • I never finish my to-do list → Instead of beating myself up, I am going to look at the list and determine how realistic it is. Then I am going to look at it again, and listen to myself and what I really feel needs to be on that list.

When we are honest and patient with ourselves it is much easier to get excited about the items on our lists.

Compassion is this beautiful gift we can give ourselves and others. The ways we offer others compassion are the ways we can offer it to ourselves as well.

Little truth, the more you offer compassion to yourself the easier it becomes to also share with others.

All Energy work, All healing starts within then radiates outward.

You are a blessing and You are loved,

Em.
